Experienced Board Member, Chief Legal Officer and Executive

David Buckman’s career as a leader, executive and legal professional spans over 35 years.  For nearly 20 years, David served as the chief legal officer of Allied Universal, the global leader in security services, operating in nearly 100 countries.  As Allied Universal’s Global General Counsel, David was responsible for all legal and regulatory affairs of the company, overseeing a global legal services department of over 180 professionals on six continents.  For several years, David supervised the company’s human capital management functions.  He served as a leader and key participant for numerous mission-critical initiatives and strategic planning processes.  David also served on the Allied Universal board.

From the time David joined the company’s predecessor, AlliedBarton, as General Counsel in 2005, the organization grew from a US-based security provider with approximately $1 billion in annual sales to a global business services leader with annual revenue exceeding $20 billion and over 750,000 employees.  Over the course of multiple ownership changes and transformational mergers and acquisitions, David remained a constant as the leader of the company’s legal functions and trusted advisor to the executive team. 

Previously, David served as Associate General Counsel to Aramark, a leading global provider of food and facility services.  He began his career as a corporate and transactional attorney with the international law firm, Morgan Lewis. David excels at strategic planning, compliance and governance, leadership development, crisis management and communications.  In addition to serving on the Allied Universal board, David has extensive experience on industry and non-profit boards.
