
Jim is a seasoned CEO who has led several telecommunications companies with success in product development, market share expansion, and revenue and profitability growth. He was recently the President & CEO of DQE Communications, a regional fiber optic telecommunications provider with number one market share, until its successful sale to private equity owners. Previously he was President, CEO & Board Director of D & E Communications, a regulated telecommunications company where he expanded broadband internet penetration and significantly increased profitability. Earlier roles included Business Lead of Exelon Communications, a mobile wireless network builder and fiber optic network provider; Corporate Planning & Strategy Analyst at PECO; as well as earlier engineering roles at PECO.
Jim’s expertise includes strategic planning, P&L optimization, capital allocation, operational effectiveness, network infrastructure design/construction, and enterprise risk management. He has deep experience in mergers/acquisitions/joint ventures, talent development, succession planning, as well as corporate strategy, goals, and compensation plan development.
As a former CEO and Board Director, Jim knows how to effectively partner with and support a CEO by asking probing questions, delving into strategic plans, focusing on operational excellence, and ensuring alignment of metrics, goals, and incentives.
Jim earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering as well as an MBA from Drexel University. He also completed the Senior Executive Program at Columbia University, Graduate School of Business.
