Early in his career, Ron served as an Information Security Consultant for both KPMG and Ernst & Young, LLP performing offensive security operations and compliance assessments. Ron then created the Information Security program as the Manager of Technology Risk Management for BlackRock, Inc. Later, Ron was the pivotal Manager of Information Security for SunGard Availability Services leading the development, design, and launch of innovative services propelling the practice to double digit growth and revenue.
Moving back into a corporate role, Ron became the CISO reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors for Harleysville Insurance (Nationwide Insurance). He paved the way for the publicly traded insurance group by building and spearheading the entire security organization. Ron then shifted his career to Penn National gaming organization as the Director of Information Security. He was tasked to develop, execute, and maintain all information security initiatives from the ground up within a large-scale casino company, transforming operations as the company experienced explosive growth through acquisitions.
Ron then embarked on a new journey founding and acting as CEO of BTB Security (Acquired by Netrix, LLC.) and was the driving force developing and executing robust strategies to accelerate growth, performance, and productivity within the cyber security industry. He catapulted the bootstrapped company from zero to more than $10M in revenue while serving 300+ clients in both professional consulting services and managed security services. Furthermore, Ron was exclusively recruited to present at numerous speaking and media engagements notably being featured on NBC news, CNN, USA Today and at such events as the Gartner Security and Risk Summit, Sans Institute trainings, and at the FBI InfraGard Summit among others.
Ron holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Juniata College. He also completed the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE), and the Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) programs.
